The Gospel of JohnMiracles … The Over-Riding Of The Natural Laws

John 2:1 “And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”

GOD With Us

The Creator who came in the flesh is ready to manifest that GOD is with us. “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” [Philippians 2:6-8]

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” [Matthew 1:23]

Let me repeat it again: it is the Creator who came in the flesh … ready to manifest to us … GOD with us. The General Rule!

“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.”

This is where Jesus Christ’s PUBLIC ministry begins, and it is at this point, the Book shows that Jesus Christ is thirty years old.

How do we know?

Go to verse twenty-three in Luke chapter three, and we will find: “And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.”

[Forty-two months from this event … HIS hour will have come.]

Now we have a marriage here in the city Cana of Galilee. A crisis of a sort is set forth verses one through three. “And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.”

[They have no wine!]

Indeed that is the big problem. Now what can be done to solve the problem at this wedding? Can they get some fresh pressed wine from the store [or market] in real short order [like right away]? Not hardly. If “the governor of the feast” did not make proper provision for the feast, then they, who have come to the wedding, will just have to do without.

It is a hard fact of life that if one does not lay up in store TODAY, his provision for TOMORROW, then when that TOMORROW becomes TODAY, that person will have to learn to live WITHOUT.

That is the general rule! [General Rule]

This principle is laid out for us by the Holy Spirit in the Book of Proverbs. “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.”

According to [Proverbs 6:6-11], men have to work in order to lay up the provision, or the food, necessary to sustain their very lives on this earth. Now, this has been going on on the face of this earth ever since the curse of Adam’s sin made it necessary activity.

This is the law of the [General Rule].

Verse five: “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.”

Well here we are at the wedding, and [They have no wine!] Are you READY for a profound observation? When a man has done all he can do and he still comes up short, [yea if the thing is beyond his reach or extremity] then that man will find himself in a position of utter [HELPLESSNESS] [a very desired position from God’s perspective] where he now is [READY] to see what GOD can do about the problem [SIN]!

[Mark 10:27] “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

Jesus Christ [WHO IS GOD] can upset the apple cart at any time. Amen! The earth, the heavens and all that is in it, GOD CREATED it all. Amen! God is over it all, Amen! Amen! Amen!

Now what did David say, by the HOLY GHOST, beforehand, of this man, who is standing here in Cana of Galilee at THIS BEGINNING OF MIRACLES?

Well, what does the Scripture say? “Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.” [1 Chronicles 29:11]

HE is Jesus Christ … visiting us … THE FIRST ADVENT.

Miracles … The Over-Riding Of The Natural Laws

Let’s go to [Joshua 10:12-14]. “Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.”

Consider what we just read. A miracle is the supernatural overriding of that which is natural [that is, bound by natural laws]. The turning of the water into wine at the marriage at Cana of Galilee, and the sun, in Joshua’s day, being made to stand still for “about” twenty-four hours [The Supernatural] runs diametrically opposite to the [Natural Laws].

One of the established and observed natural laws is the Law of Thermodynamics. The First Law of Thermodynamics states this. Energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed. [Natural Law] God creating “the heaven and the earth” in six literal days steps outside of this, and is a MIRACLE [A DIVINE OR SUPERNATURAL INTERVENTION BY GOD].

The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that "in all energy exchanges, if no energy enters or leaves the system, the potential energy of the state will always be less than that of the initial state." This is also commonly referred to as entropy. Entropy is a measure of disorder.

[All things tend to disorder].

Ever notice this my friend? Ever since sin entered into the world, [because of Adam’ sin] all things tend to disorder,

[From being an ordered system at the point of the creation [in Genesis] to universal disorder … chaos!

The earth is running down!!!

Indeed when Jesus Christ comes to this earth to establish his [Kingdom of Heaven], it will be a time of [regeneration] or the reversing of the disorder that has been increasing for the last six thousand years. [Matthew 19:28] “And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” [Acts 3:19]

The “times of refreshing” is coming, which will be SUPERNATURAL, and will run against the grain of the Natural Law. “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

Now when Jesus Christ is in charge, we need to hearken and obey his instructions. Are you ready?

Verse eight through ten: “And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.”

The best is last when God is in it!

Verse eleven: “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”

Have you believed on HIM?
