The Spirit, the Water, and the Blood
Introduction
The unknown God
[Acts 17:23] is the GOD I shall testify to
you.
The atheist
maintains: There is no God! However,
the word of God says this man is a
FOOL!
Psalm 14:1a: “To
the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The
fool hath said in his heart, There is
no God.”
There is A GOD!
There is A GOD! There is A GOD!
Question: If there is
a God, then, what is God’s NAME?
Answer: I AM
THAT I AM is God’s name.
“And God said unto Moses, I
AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto
the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”
[Exodus 3:14]
Now, bear with me!
It is God that you will need to deal with … for
your life. This is stated very clearly in
the BOOK of God, in the fifth book of Moses,
called Deuteronomy, in chapter thirty-two, verse
thirty-nine:
“See now that I, even I,
am he, and there is no god with me: I
kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither
is there any that can deliver out of my
hand.” [Deuteronomy 32:39]
God kills, and God makes alive.
God wounds, and God heals!
This truth makes the inhabitants of the nation’s
very angry.
Psalm 2:
“Why do the
heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set
themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD, and against his anointed,
saying,
Let us break their bands
asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
He that sitteth in the
heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in
derision.
Then shall he speak unto
them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore
displeasure.
Yet have I set my king upon
my holy hill of Zion.
I will declare the decree:
the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my
Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Ask of me, and I shall give
thee the heathen for thine
inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth
for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a
rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a
potter's vessel.
Be wise now therefore, O ye
kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve
the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss
the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from
the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all
they that put their trust in him.”
This is plain, simple TRUTH!
Now, I am ready to ask you a
question: Who are you? Where did
you come from? And where are you
going?
If you are a person who is
asking these hard questions [having common
sense] [which concerns your life].
Then, please read on.
Some of these hard questions
will involve asking questions like these
following questions:
- Question: What is God?
- Question: What is the
purpose of my life?
- Question: What profit
is there in my life?
- Question: Who can save
me from death and from Hell?
- Question: How did
God make me?
Here are some brief
answers to your questions:
a.
Answer: God is a Spirit:
John 4:24: “God is a Spirit:
and they that worship him must worship him
in spirit and in truth.”
b.
Answer: You are made to
glorify God: Romans 15:6: “That ye may
with one mind and one mouth glorify
God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
To glorify God will result in the praise of God:
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that
my soul knoweth right well.” [Psalm 139:14]
c.
Answer: You have an
opportunity to know God, and to
fellowship with God: Philippians 3:9-10:
“And be found in him, not having mine own
righteousness, which is of the law, but that which
is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness
which is of God by faith: That I may
know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the
fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable
unto his death;”
d.
Answer: Only Jesus Christ can
save you from DEATH and HELL: Acts 4:12:
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under heaven given among
men, whereby we must be saved.”
e.
Answer: God fearfully
and wonderfully made you in the womb. From our
first parents, Adam and Eve, generation by
generation, for six thousand years, we have
filled the Earth: “Did not he that made me in
the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the
womb? [Job 31:15] Your
body came from the dust of this earth, and
your spirit came from the God who gave it.
Your body will return to the
dust of this earth. This most
surely will happen to you, [Ecclesiastes 12:7]
[except you going up in the translation of the body
of Christ: the Church].
You may now ask:
Am I then born holy and righteous?
Answer: No, my first
father sinned and I in him.
“For as in Adam all
die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive”
[1 Corinthians 15:22].
This all brings another
question: But how do you know this is all the
truth? Furthermore, what is
truth?
The answers to these
questions [and more] are all found in a BOOK. [Psalm
30:9, John 18:38]
What is this BOOK?
This BOOK is a perfect
book, and it is called the word of God.
The word of God
declares these following truths
about you:
GOD MADE YOU!
It is the GOD of heaven
and earth who has made you.
“For in him we live,
and move, and have our being; as certain also of
your own poets have said, For we are also his
offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of
God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like
unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and
man's device.” [Acts 17:28-29]
Next:
GOD KEEPS YOU!
Furthermore, it is “by
the word of his [GOD] power” that you
[your very body, soul and spirit] are held together.
GOD upholds “all things by the word of his
power.” [Hebrews: 1:3]
Lastly:
GOD CAN SAVE YOU!
“The Lord is not slack
concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that
any should perish but that all should come to
repentance.” [2 Peter 3:9]
First and foremost:
The Bible is the Scripture, and the Scripture will
be FULFILLED.
Why will it be fulfilled?
Because the Scriptures are the words of God.
Thy word is TRUTH.
John 17:17:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is
truth.”
The truth is: God was
manifest in the FLESH: 1 Timothy 3:16:
“And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified
in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the
Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into
glory.”
Question: Are there any
witnesses to the truth?
Answer: There are six
witnesses to the truth that will testify to you,
that all these things are so.
Now, what is needed on
your part is faith. You ask, but
what is faith?
Here is the answer to
this question: “Now faith is the
substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen.” [Hebrews 11:1]
What is required on your part
[and on my part] is to believe by faith
these six witnesses to the truth.
Three of these witnesses are in
HEAVEN, and three of these witnesses are on Earth.
Who are they?
We shall find out. Are you
ready for this journey? If
so, read on!!!
My Declaration:
I will not resort to the
Hebrew or the Greek in this study. Why?
Because I believe we are not one whit at
disadvantage than when the Apostle John's epistles
were being read for the first time in the presence
of the churches.
Not even the verb tense
will be doubted! For if this would be allowed,
then error would creep in, or the temptation
to wrest the Scripture to fit our own human
experience might occur. We should rather have
God’s word judge us, rather than us judging
God’s word.
In First John chapter
five, most of verse seven, and part of verse
eight, forms what is known as The Johannine
Comma.
1 John 5:7 “For there
are three that bear record in heaven, the Father,
the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are
one.”
The Johannine Comma
The only sure way to
ascertain if a doctrine or a teaching is true Bible
doctrine is to let Scripture define Scripture, and,
as declared above, to believe it, without the
interjection of any of the humanistic poisons,
(i.e. traditionalism, pragmatism, rationalism or
higher criticism).
These poisons will
tend to destroy one’s faith in what God has said,
and maximize uncertainty and doubt in the heart of
man.
“The words of the Lord
are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of
earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt
keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from
this generation for ever” [Psalm
12:7].
The words of the
Lord are pure words! Note that the
promise that God will preserve HIS words [Psalm 12:
7] is in the present tense. Do you
believe those words? The words of God are
pure even today for us who live in the 21st
century.
God has preserved
these words. These words are
preserved in spite of all the unbelieving
scholars, and all the unbelieving translation
committees! Amen!
Please note: There is in
every man that kind of heart that
would tend to doubt God's words.
“Yea, hath God said?”
I will state it
differently. There lies within certain
men's hearts a desire to corrupt the
word of God, but contrariwise, we BIBLE
believers approach the Bible by faith, in
sincerity, and so we dare to speak in
Christ.
“For we are not as
many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of
sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak
we in Christ” [2 Corinthians 2:17].
The Devil’s Target: The Comma.
In First John chapter
five, most of verse seven, and part of verse
eight, forms what is known as The Johannine
Comma.
The Comma is
comprised of the following words: in
heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:
and these three are one. And there are three
that bear witness in earth.
The Devil’s product: The New Age
Translations.
In every translation
of the Bible put into the English language since
1881 [which there is now well over two hundred
translations,] the committees have removed
these words which buttress the doctrine of
the Trinity.
Now, why have they
done this? Well, it is because Satan,
and his cohorts, have been very, very busy
for the last two thousand years corrupting
the Scripture.
Here is how it is
done. The Devil first solicits his
dupes, who are the educated [the
scholastics].
Then next, the Devil
sets them to the WORK.
Now, how does he do
this? Well, he approaches those
unbelieving scholars through a particular
vulnerability that they all have inherently
built within them. This vulnerability
is their pride.
P-R-I-D-E
He then, cunningly
directs them to corrupt God’s words as found
in the extant manuscript evidence, i.e. the Greek
papyri, the uncials (or majuscules), the
minuscule (or cursives), and the
lectionaries.
Now, this WORK is
identified for us in the second book of
Corinthians, chapter two, verse seventeen:
Now, notice God sees
the whole thing from the beginning to the end.
Fact: The Spirit of
God has not only used the Greek manuscript
evidence [P61 in this case] to preserve the
Scripture, but HE has also used the manuscript
evidence contained within the Old Syriac
manuscripts, along with the Old Latin
manuscripts of the Waldenses.
Note: the Waldensians
[120 A.D.] were a Bible-believing people who lived
in the upper reaches of the Po River valley in the
Italian Alps far from Rome.
The words of God: God has promised to keep
them forever.
“O Lord, thou shalt
preserve them from this generation for ever”.
Warning: Every
translation committee since 1881 has followed the
corrupt line of apostate Greek texts of:
1.
Westcott and Hort,
2.
Nestle, and Aland
3.
Metzger.
[See the Addendum for the complete list of the
Greek Texts.]
Only the Authorized
Version of 1611, or any of its editions,
stands apart from all these humanistic New-Age
versions, i.e., the RV, the ASV, the NASV, ESV,
etc.
Now, we will leave aside
the manuscript evidence for the Johannine
Comma, to comment on the internal grammatical
evidence for the Johannine Comma. For this
we will refer here to Edward F. Hills in his book:
Believing Bible Study in the Space Age: The Bible
is True! Edward F. Hills has carefully
noted the grammatical problems these New-Age
translation committees have gotten themselves into
with their omission of the comma:
Quoted here below is the
following from page 213 of Edward F. Hills’ book:
“In the third place, the
omission of the Johannine comma involves a
grammatical difficulty. The words spirit, water
and blood are neuter in gender, but in
1 John 5:8 they are treated as masculine. If the
Johannine comma is rejected, it is hard to
explain this irregularity. It is usually said that
in I John 5:8 the spirit, the water
and the blood are personalized and that this
is the reason for the adoption of the masculine
gender. But it is hard to see how such
personalization would involve the change from the
neuter to the masculine. For in verse 6 the word
Spirit plainly refers to the Holy Spirit, the
Third Person of the Trinity. Surely in this
verse the word Spirit is “personalized”, and yet the
neuter gender is used. Therefore, since
personalization did not bring about a change of
gender in verse 6, it cannot fairly be pleaded as
the reason for such a change in verse 8. If,
however, the Johannine comma is retained, a
reason for placing the neuter nouns spirit,
water, and blood in the masculine gender
becomes readily apparent. It was due to the
influence of the nouns Father and Word,
which are masculine. Thus the hypothesis that the
Johannine comma is an interpolation is full of
difficulties.”
Special note: Beware
of the New American Standard translation [NASV] [and
all the other New-Age Bible translations] concerning
1 John 5:7-8.
The NASV omits 1
John 5:7, and then replaces it with a fabricated
verse seven created from the last half of
verse six.
[See Addendum – The
testimony of Frank Logsdon, project member of the
translation committee for the New American Standard
Version.]
The Line of Witnesses
To return to our
narrative, there is an unbroken line of
witnesses that attest to the verity of this
verse going all the way back to the year A.D. 170.
Summation: All the
modern translations have been corrupted by the
scholars who are nothing more but the dupes of the
Devil. All these New-Age translations
have produced a vision problem [a myopia]
within the people, and results in a massive
confusion, as to what God hath said.
Warning: “For I
testify unto every man that heareth the words of the
prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto
these things, God shall add unto him the plagues
that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take
away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part out of the book of
life, and out of the holy city, and from the
things which are written in this book.”
[Revelation 22:18-19]
Comment: If a man
messes with the BOOK, then God will mess with that
man!
The Great Confusion in the 21st
century.
Now, turn to the Second
book of Corinthians, chapter four, and we will read
from there:
“We are troubled on
every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed,
but not in despair;” [2 Corinthians
4:8].
That is our
condition of our people [The United States of
America] in all our land in the 21st
century: We are all flummoxed.
Flummoxed??? Well, you say, what in the
world does this word flummoxed mean?
Well, you are
flummoxed if you are completely unable to
understand what is happening to you, and to all
around you. Does that make sense?
In other words, you are just utterly
confused [or perplexed] about what is real,
and what is false.
Now, this flummoxing
state has plagued the saved [as
well as the unsaved] for the last two
thousand years.
But this flummoxed
condition became epidemic after the flood of
the New-Age translations began in 1881 A.D.
This flummoxed condition is especially true
in the Christians living today in the 21st
century.
Bottom-line: We are all
very prone to being flummoxed.
It is,
as the Apostle Paul by the Holy Ghost says it
is, in the Second book of Corinthians, chapter four,
verse eight. We are troubled but we are
not living in despair. We are
perplexed or flummoxed!
Perplexed =
Flummoxed
In addition: We have
here, within these sinful bodies of ours, a
natural propensity to having these visitations
of pestilences [with acute, malignant and
contagious diseases] that often prevail upon men
while we are living here in this sin-cursed-world.
Now, history records
for us these major visitations of
plagues or pestilences. It will behoove us to
learn from history the visitations of these plagues!
Here below is a brief list of the plagues [or
pestilences] which have occurred in the last several
thousand years:
1.
The Byzantine plague [which
was centered in Asia at Constantinople in 541 A.D.]
including its reoccurrences in the years
following consumed over twenty-five million people.
2.
The Black Death which is a
virulent strain of plague invaded Europe from
the East, in 1347 A.D.]. This
plague of the Black Death would eventually
spend half a decade tearing across the whole
continent of Europe. The complete populations of
whole towns were wiped out, and it was said that the
living spent most of their time burying the dead in
great mass graves. A Welsh poet
wrote: “We see death coming into our midst like
black smoke.” Approximately 75 million to 200
million people died in the plague.
3.
Next there was the New World
Smallpox plague which killed between 25-56
million people beginning in the year of 1520 and the
plague continued till the seventeenth century.
4.
The Italian Plague of
1629-1631 A.D. This plague
began in 1629 A.D. as a result of the Thirty Years’
War. It spread virulently across the countryside and
in the cities of Verona, Milan, Venice, and
Florence. It visited death
upon them. Millions died.
5.
The Great Plague of London,
England. This plague
spread within the city of London in the years of
1665 and in 1666, and then several times more in the
17th and 18th centuries.
6.
The Great Plague of Marseille,
France in 1720 A.D. People
died by the thousands, and the piles of bodies on
the streets grew so large that convicts were
conscripted to dispose of them.
The people that died numbered 100,000.
7.
Called the Third Pandemic Plague
which began in 1855 A.D. in China [in the province
of Yunnan]. This plague spread and covered the earth
and lasted a hundred years and killed over 15
million people.
8.
1918 Flu Plague: Between 50 to 100
million people died in the years of 1918 to 1920.
9.
COVID-19: The man-made
plague of 2019.
1. The Spirit
The third PERSON is
the Spirit [Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost].
See the following:
·
John 7:39: “(But
this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe
on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not
yet given; because that Jesus was not
yet glorified.)”
·
Acts 2:4: “And they
were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to
speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them
utterance.”
·
“And ye shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
[John 8:32]
2. The Water
Beyond,
and higher than the clouds, [the first
heaven] and beyond our solar system [the sun,
the moon and the planets], are the star
constellations, which is the second heaven].
To the north, and beyond, and higher than these star constellations, and beyond the expanse of the universe, we leave the domain of time to pass into eternity, and thus, we come to the third heaven.
3. The Blood
Levi was ordained to
cover for man’s sins of the flesh with the blood
of bulls and of goats:
Hebrews 9:13: “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:”
4. The Plague
Now, we, who are
living in the 21st century, are all
unclean. We are all in trouble,
in real trouble. We have this plague
that is spreading throughout all the people of the
land.
Now for verse
twenty-seven [Leviticus 13:27]:
“And the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: and if it be spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.”
5. The Uncleaness in All of Us
Now here is the question:
What are we seeing? We are seeing all the
people of this earth that are living in that
great day of judgment being hurt [or
plagued] with the fire, and with the smoke, and
with the brimstone, which fire, smoke and brimstone
is being issued out from of the mouths of a horrid
supernatural army of horsemen.
Further, this supernatural army of horsemen is revealed here as being like locusts.
6. The Priest and the Scripture
Herein is a basic
truth: Much that is invisible that is surrounding us
can by degrees be made to be clearly seen with our
eyes. Do you know this?
Now, if we were born blind, we would not be able see the things that surround us in this world. We would be in great way helpless. We would need to be led around by someone else who could see for us. What a place to be in life.
7. The Word and the Blood
There was coming a day
in their future [in the fulfillment of prophecy]
when the pestilence, and the plague for sin
would be remedied by THE PASSOVER LAMB!
Israel [and the world]
for now would have to wait for the Messiah to
come.
And the Messiah did
come in 4 B.C.
