The Book of MicahThe Remnant of Jacob

Micah 5:7 “And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
9 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all
thine enemies shall be cut off.”

1. As The Dew … As The Showers

Verse seven: “And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men."

Only a true Bible believer can see what is going to happen to Israel, but this is conditional even for the believer.

Now, here is the condition.

To see what is coming, and to see what will happen in the near future in the Middle East concerning Israel, one must believe the BOOK [which is the Authorized Version of 1611 or any of it editions.]

And more pointedly, one must believe the words of this BOOK, which see … comes from “the words of” God’s “mouth.”

Now, “give ear” and “hear” God’s “words”!

In Moses’ song [which is located in the book of Deuteronomy chapter thirty-two] we will see these words: “the words of" God’s "mouth.”  Verse one: “Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.”

Did you hear those words?

Now, Christian, believe those words of God … from God’s mouth.  They are your necessary food so that you may produce something useful.  This is FOOD for ENERGY, which energy is to be directed toward something that is to be accomplished for God and to be useful to God … for “good works”.

God’s word is … “doctrine” among other things.  God’s words are SCRIPTURE!  “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” [2 Timothy 3:16-17]

Now, read verses two through four: “My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” [Deuteronomy 32:2-4]

God’s “doctrine” drops “as the rain” to quench the thirst in the hearts of men.  Now, Christian, here is your marching orders; “publish the name” of God where ever you go.  Fish for the souls of men!

Now, notice there is something else here.  God will make “the remnant of Jacob” a blessing … “as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass,” to all the other nations of the earth [“many people”].  God blesses one nation [Israel], so that one nation … will be a blessing to many nations.

Now, when will this all happen?  It will happen very soon.  This will be in the millennial Kingdom of Heaven.  Every one of the nations on this earth will benefit from the “dew” that comes from the LORD and from “the showers upon the grass” ... through Israel.

Now, look what the book of Zechariah says in the chapter eight, verse twelve: “For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.” [Zechariah 8:12]

The “remnant of Jacob” will possess all these things, and “tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.”

Israel will inherit the nations, and there is no one who can stop this thing from happening! Amen! “For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.” [Isaiah 54:3]

2. As A Lion … As A Young Lion

Verse eight and nine: “And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.”

Not only will the “remnant of Jacob” “possess all these things” in the coming Kingdom of Heaven, but Israel will also, tread down and tear in pieces any nation that refuses to knuckle under the rule of THE KING

Who is this King?  It is Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ shall reign from Zion’s hill, which is Jerusalem.

Something else; in that day, all those that have afflicted the Jews [the Gentiles] will bow themselves down low … to the very level of the soles of Jewish feet, and they will literally bless them, who are of the “city” [of Zion].

Now get this! Bible Prophesy always comes true, for this thing will surely come to pass concerning Israel.  See this thing for yourself in the book of Isaiah chapter sixty, verse fourteen: “The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.” [Isaiah 60:14]

Now, I want to ask you a question.  Have you ever seen an apple cart flipped over?

Well, everything is going to get flipped upside down from what we have considered normal … in this our day [concerning Israel].

What we see today is a small and a hated or despised nation … in all the eyes of the world [Israel a tail of the nations].

For in that day … when we see the Lord of hosts reigning in Mount Zion … Israel will be the head nation of all the nations of this earth.

This can readily be seen in the book of Isaiah in chapter twenty-four, verse twenty-three: “Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.” [Isaiah 24:23]

Indeed, the true power center of the earth [politically, religiously, and economically] will be from Mount Zion, which is Jerusalem.  The authoritative power from “the Lord of hosts” will flow to the east, and to the west, and to the north, and to the south from Mount Zion.

In the one-thousand-year Kingdom of Heaven, if anyone [in the nations of this earth] wants a blessing, or deliverance, they must “call on the name of the Lord”.

They must call upon the name of the LORD for salvation … “for salvation is of the Jews.” [John 4:22]

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.” [Joel 2:32]
