The Apple of His Eye ... commentary of Psalm 74
The Apple of His Eye
… A commentary of Psalm
							74
Verse Fourteen
Psalm 74:14: “Thou brakest
the heads of leviathan in pieces,
and gavest him to be meat to
							the people inhabiting the wilderness.”
							In the constellation above, seen
in the night sky, is a grouping of stars that
represent one of the divisions of the celestial
sphere that God Himself has designed.
As we peer into this sky, we can see the
							crooked serpent.
Now, turn to the book of Job chapter
twenty-six, verse thirteen, and we will see that it
is God that formed the crooked serpent in the
							sky:
“By his spirit he hath garnished the
heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.”
							[Job 26:13]
God formed this crooked serpent in
His handiwork in order to display His
							glory to us:
							“The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto
							night sheweth knowledge.” [Psalm 19:1-2]
							 Amen!
Now, the crooked serpent in the sky
shows the crooked serpent is here on this
							earth.

This crooked serpent is a dragon.
							DRAGONS do EXIST!
This dragon is also, a piercing
							serpent.
							This piercing serpent
							[a dragon] is called Leviathan.
							Leviathan
lives in the sea.  The question follows:
							Job 41:1: “Canst
thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue
with a cord which thou lettest down?”
							He is a monster worse
than anyone found in anyone’s dream or in
							anyone’s imagination.
							 Now note: This sea
monster has more than one head.  Our
verse here [verse fourteen] says heads
							[plural].
							Then, how many
							heads does this creature have?
The Bible in the book of
the Revelation of Jesus Christ in chapter thirteen
[verse one and two] describes an eerie scene by the
sea shore by the Apostle John.
							A sea monster called a
beast rises up out of the water and this
beast had seven heads, like Leviathan,
yet different than Leviathan, having ten
horns with each horn having a crown for a
							total of ten crowns.
							Also, this sea monster
had another notable and odd thing to
take into account.  His seven heads
[all seven] had one name: the NAME of
BLASPHEMY.  Let’s read and take this into our
							thoughts:
							“And I stood upon the
sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the
sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his
horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of
							blasphemy.
							And the beast which I
saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as
the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth
of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and
							his seat, and great authority.”
							[Revelation 13:1-2]
							From this connection
to the beast, rising up out from the sea,
found here in the book of the Revelation of Jesus
Christ in chapter thirteen [verse one] to that of
Leviathan in our comments on verse fourteen, we
							have these following commonalities:

							1.
							The beast and Leviathan are
water dragons.  One lived in the sea, or
in the river, the other rose up out the sea.

							2.
							The beast and Leviathan have
multiple heads.  One clearly had seven
heads, and the other had an unidentified
							number of heads.

							3.
							The beast and Leviathan are
political in type, thus, crowns are involved,
primarily with Pharaoh King of Egypt, and
secondarily, with Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
See our comments for this given earlier for our
verse thirteen of this commentary [Ezekiel 29:3,
							Jeremiah 51:34].
							Thus far, we conclude:
							1.
							DRAGONS do EXIST!
							2.
							Dragons are in the
sea, and in the rivers of the earth.
							3.
							Dragons
are also in the low places of the earth!
							4.
							Pharaoh is a great
							dragon.
							5.
							Nebuchadnezzar is like
							a dragon.
							6.
							The great red dragon
will show up in the wilderness [Revelation
							chapter twelve].  This is the
							DEVIL, the first person of
							the evil trinity.
							7.
							There are no crowns
on the seven heads of the great red
							dragon.
							8.
							The beast
will show up, rising up out of the sea
							[Revelation chapter thirteen].   This is
the political head of a kingdom, the
second person of the evil trinity.
							9.
							There are ten crowns
on the ten horns on the seven heads of
							the beast.

We are ready now to comment on the second
							part of Psalm 74:14:
“Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in
pieces, and gavest him to be meat to
							the people inhabiting the wilderness.”
							“…meat to the
							people inhabiting the wilderness.”

Look for Leviathan in the sea.
We read in Psalm one hundred and four, verse
							twenty-six:
“There go the ships: there is
that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play
							therein.” [Psalm 104:26]
There is a prophecy soon to be fulfilled
in the book of Isaiah.  See chapter
							twenty-seven, verse one:
“In that day the LORD with his sore and
great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the
piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked
serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is
							in the sea.” [Isaiah 27:1]
Soon there will be a voice that will
be heard by the people of Israel and they
							will flee to the wilderness.
Turn to the book of the Gospel according to
Matthew, and we will read from there, in chapter
							twenty-four, verses fifteen through twenty-one:
“When ye therefore shall see the
abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the
prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth,
							let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee
							into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not
come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field
return back to take his clothes.
And woe unto them that are with child,
and to them that give suck in those days!
But pray ye that your flight be not in
the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
For then shall be great tribulation,
such as was not since the beginning of the world to
this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
							[Matthew 24:15-21]
Now, we need to return to the book of the
Revelation of Jesus Christ … to chapter twelve.
							Now, verse six: “And
the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a
place prepared of God, that they should feed her
there a thousand two hundred and threescore
							days.” [Revelation 12:6]
The woman here in chapter twelve is
not the church, the body of Christ.
The church is called a bride not a woman.
Two things different are not the same.
This woman is also not Mary as it was taught to me
							as a Roman Catholic.
This woman clothed … with the sun,
and the moon under her feet, having a
crown of twelve stars represents the nation of
							Israel.
Now, each star represents a tribe
							of Israel.
Thus, we have twelve stars for the
twelve tribes of Israel.  And something
else, this relationship points back to a dream that
Joseph had in the First book of Moses called
Genesis.  See for this in chapter thirty-seven,
							verse nine:
“And he dreamed yet another dream, and
told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have
dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the
moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.”
							[Genesis 37:9]
							What can we see here?
							1.
							Joseph’s father Jacob
							represents the sun.
							2.
							Second: Joseph’s mother
							Rachel represents the moon.
							3.
							Joseph’s eleven brothers
							represent the eleven stars.
							4.
							Joseph represents the
							twelfth star.
Again, the woman will flee into the
							wilderness.

This wilderness will be the wilderness
of Zin and the wilderness of Paran in close
proximity to Petra, and they will hide out,
like David did [1 Samuel 25:1].

The wilderness of Zin is located
north and east of Kadesh Barnea, whereas the
wilderness of Paran is located south and east of
Kadesh Barnea. It is a large wilderness area just
east of Petra that runs in a north-south direction.
Now there will be at the end of the
Tribulation a highway from the Sinai going
north through the wilderness to Jerusalem.

This will form the route the SON of GOD,
Jesus Christ, takes in His Second Advent to this
							earth.
In the Fourth book of Moses called
Deuteronomy, chapter thirty-three, verse two, we
							read of it:
“And he said, The LORD came from Sinai,
and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth
from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of
saints: from his right hand went a fiery law
							for them.” [Deuteronomy 33:2]
One day, very soon, there will be a voice
heard by the people hiding in the wilderness on a
							highway for our God.
							This highway is prophesied of
… in the book of the prophet Isaiah, in chapter
							forty, verse three:
“The voice of him that crieth in the
wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make
straight in the desert a highway for our God.” [Isaiah
							40:3]
This is that very thing we see in the book
of the prophet Isaiah, and in the book of the
							prophet Hosea:
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it
shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will
even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the
							desert.
The beast of the field shall honour me,
the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in
the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give
drink to my people, my chosen.” [Isaiah
							43:19-20]
This way in the wilderness will be a
new thing for all to behold, “a highway” through
the desert of “the wilderness” from Sinai to
Paran … to give commerce to people [Israel]
							hiding in the “wilderness”.
Thus, Leviathan will be transported on the
highway in pieces for meat to feed the
							people.
The LORD will do this all!
							And something else: Soon comfort
will come to this people taking refuge in “the
							wilderness”.
We have this in the book of the prophet
Hosea, chapter two, verses fourteen and fifteen:
“Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
and bring her into the wilderness, and speak
							comfortably unto her.
And I will give her her vineyards from
thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope:
and she shall sing there, as in the days of her
youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the
							land of Egypt.” [Hosea 2:14-15]
We now come full circle in this
fulfillment of Hosea [when the Jews flee to the
wilderness in the Tribulation] back to this
fulfillment of prophecy recorded here in the book of
							the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
							Let me read it again:
“And the woman fled into the wilderness,
where she hath a place prepared of God, that they
should feed her there a thousand two hundred and
							threescore days.” [Revelation 12:6]
							Now, see verses fourteen through
							seventeen:
“And to the woman were given two wings
of a great eagle, that she might fly into the
wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished
for a time, and times, and half a time, from the
							face of the serpent.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth
water as a flood after the woman, that he might
cause her to be carried away of the flood.
And the earth helped the woman, and the
earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood
which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman,
and went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the commandments of God, and have the
							testimony of Jesus Christ.” [Revelation
							12:14-17]

This is the spectacle that the world
will observe in much trepidation [both with
horror and with anger]. The LORD will go
forth with all his hosts “with ten
thousands of saints” to do business with
his enemies … this in response to the prayers of
his people … in the wilderness.
							To obtain more illumination, concerning
Jesus Christ’s march through the wilderness on this
highway prepared of God, we will note
this which is located in the book of Psalms, Psalm
							sixty-eight, verse seven:
“O God, when thou wentest forth before
thy people, when thou didst march through the
							wilderness; Selah:” [Psalm 68:7]
							·
							God went forth before His
people in the wilderness in the exodus
							[from Egypt].
							·
							God will go forth before
His people in the wilderness in the
							Tribulation.
							And God’s enemies [and Israel’s
enemies] will bow before HIM, and they
will lick the dust of the earth … in Psalm
							seventy-two:
“They that dwell in the wilderness shall
bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the
							dust.” [Psalm 72:9]
Furthermore, Leviathan [a type of the
Devil] will take it in the chops, and he will
become “meat to the people inhabiting the
							wilderness”.
Thus, the LORD will feed His people with
manna and meat in the wilderness again.
The LAMB will work a mighty salvation
in the wilderness “to the people
							inhabiting the wilderness.”
							Check it out in the
book of Isaiah the prophet, chapter sixteen, verse
							one:
“Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the
land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of
							the daughter of Zion.” [Isaiah
							16:1]

this which is located in the book of Psalms, Psalm
							sixty-eight, verse seven:
“O God, when thou wentest forth before
thy people, when thou didst march through the
							wilderness; Selah:” [Psalm 68:7]
·
							God went forth before His
people in the wilderness in the exodus
							[from Egypt].
·
							God will go forth before
His people in the wilderness in the
							Tribulation.
And God’s enemies [and Israel’s
enemies] will bow before HIM, and they
will lick the dust of the earth … in Psalm
							seventy-two:
“They that dwell in the wilderness shall
bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the
							dust.” [Psalm 72:9]
Furthermore, Leviathan [a type of the
Devil] will take it in the chops, and he will
become “meat to the people inhabiting the
							wilderness”.
Thus, the LORD will feed His people with
manna and meat in the wilderness again.
The LAMB will work a mighty salvation
in the wilderness “to the people
							inhabiting the wilderness.”
Check it out in the
book of Isaiah the prophet, chapter sixteen, verse
							one:
“Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the
land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of
							the daughter of Zion.” [Isaiah
							16:1]
